Snapshot of My Day…
I don’t know about you, but one of my favourite things to do is make quilts. I love to design, choose fabrics, cut, sew, and admire the finished masterpiece. I love to sew, it really doesn’t matter what I am working on. The step in the entire process I don’t like (as much) is squaring up the pieced units. Squaring up is a result of cutting larger than you need so you are able to be more accurate in the “size” you are working on. Would you rather cut large and trim down, or use templates to cut actual size? I love cutting on the large side, using a 1/4″ foot on my sewing machine, and trimming to the desired size. I find between seam allowances and ironing, things can go just a bit wonky… I am a perfectionist, I don’t do wonky!!
Today I was squaring up some HSTs (half square triangles) to layout a block. Some listen to music, watch tv, listen to an audio book, or a myriad of other things while they square up. I don’t, I just hang out with the dogs or grandkids. Today, it was both! Zoey loves to be my quality control queen, making sure everything is just perfect.

I just love this dog! She is a rescue Yorkie. She has been with us for 13 of her years. She’s old and set in her ways! One of which is to plop down on the blocks I put on the floor to photograph…every time!
I hope your day is amazing and you get to spend it just the way you want. See you soon!
Spending the day the way you want is a blessing! I am so glad you get to do that and that you have “quality control inspectors” who help you out. May God richly bless you in this very special holiday season.
Thank you for all you do for us Debi!
Your kind words are deeply appreciated. Thank you for the encouragement. ♥️
I like rounded up on 7/8 cuts so my blocks don’t wonky or short on a side on me.
I love to sew sew sew. I think we got 46 projects done, and 35 of them completed. Not bad for the year 2021.
Well done YOU!!!!
